09/30/2004 Alchip Technologies selected to provide Faster Time-to-Market TurnkeySolution for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- October 4, 2004 -- Alchip Technologies, a fabless SoC design and manufacturing service provider, today announced that it was selected by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation to design, produce and supply a next-generation networking chip. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is using Alchip's Faster Time-to-Market Turnkey Solution to ensure both the quality of this particular product and the predictability of the product development and delivery schedule. Alchip will implement the physical design and manufacture for Mitsubishi this high-complexity architecture using TSMC's 0.13| ?m silicon technology, running at as high as 800MHz and containing more than 15M logic gates and embedded memories.

Alchip's Faster Time-To-Market Turnkey Solution is a service in which the customer completes architectural and RTL design of an IC, and Alchip handles all specs of physical design, product engineering and mass production. It allows customers to focus engineering resources on product ideas and front-end design, while Alchip leverages its physical design and product engineering expertise, third-party vendor partnership, including foundries, packaging and testing companies and IP companies, and supply chain management to deliver the highest quality parts on time.
